My love of fitness began 26 years ago. I came home after my freshman year of college (10 pounds heavier!), and joined my mom for an aerobics class at the local Y in Houston, Texas. She breezed through it while I was huffing and puffing and struggling to finish. Right then I resolved to get active. Once I was in shape, I discovered that being healthy and fit had a profound and positive effect on all aspects of my life. When we’re strong, we are our best possible selves: We are more motivated, disciplined, energetic, and happy. I know that sounds like the same spiel you hear from a lot of trainers, but I’m walking proof that it’s true, and I’ve made it my mission to help others feel the same way.
